Throughout your prenatal care, you will have appointments with different members of our obstetric team, including both our physicians and our nurse practitioners (NPs). This teambased approach allows us to provide you with timely, comprehensive care while ensuring you have access to the expertise of our entire practice.
Our nurse practitioners are highly trained healthcare providers who work closely with our physicians. They are experienced in caring for healthy pregnancies, performing routine prenatal visits, answering your questions, monitoring your baby’s growth and development, and helping address any concerns that may arise. Your physician and nurse practitioner communicate regularly and work together to ensure your care is coordinated and personalized.
Because babies don’t always arrive on a schedule, it is important that you become familiar with several members of our team during your pregnancy. While you may see both physicians and nurse practitioners for your prenatal visits, your labor and delivery will primarily be managed by one of our physicians. The physician who delivers your baby will typically be the provider who is on call when you go into labor.
Our goal is for you to feel comfortable and confident with every member of your care team. Whether you are seeing a physician or a nurse practitioner, you can expect the same commitment to excellent medical care, open communication, and support throughout your pregnancy.
