Laboratory

Laboratory

Depending on your insurance, we will send your labwork to one of two labs: LABCORP or QUEST.

Most normal results will be posted on our PATIENT PORTAL. We will give you information at your appointment about how to obtain those results.

If your results are abnormal or are normal but require an explanation or further discussion, you will be contacted by phone by your provider or the provider’s medical assistant.

Your results take time to process. You can expect your results to be available within the following timeframe:

  • Pap smears- 2-3 weeks after your appointment
  • biopsies 1-2 weeks after your appointment
  • blood work- several days to 2 weeks after your appointment
  • cultures- 1-2 weeks after your appointment

Mammogram results will only be called if abnormal. If normal, the radiology department will send you a letter letting you know the results. The letters usually take 1-2 weeks to receive.

Lab appointments

We have a phlebotomist at our office for your convenience. However, we require you to have a scheduled appointment time. Please call at least a day in advance if you need to schedule a lab appointment.
