The annual physical exam is generally a complete physical exam; therefore, absolutely necessary. During your visit, you can discuss any issues in the past year so your doctor can aptly address them. Additionally, your doctor can detect potential diseases in the early stages for prompt treatment. Typically we recommend women between the ages of 21 and 29 visit their gynecologist every year for an annual checkup.
