In-office procedures are performed at the Gwinnett OB/GYN office in Snellville. Surgical procedures requiring a hospital or surgical facility setting are performed at a facility your provider will confirm at your pre-surgical consultation. Contact the office for details about where your specific procedure will take place.
Recovery time depends on the type of surgery. Laparoscopic procedures generally require 1 to 2 weeks before returning to desk work and 2 to 4 weeks before returning to strenuous activity. Abdominal hysterectomy typically requires 4 to 6 weeks of recovery. Vaginal and laparoscopic hysterectomy may allow for shorter recovery. Your provider will give you specific timelines based on the procedure performed and your individual recovery.
Bring a photo ID, insurance card, a list of current medications and any prior imaging or lab results related to your condition. If you have seen other specialists for this issue, bring those records as well. A list of questions for your provider is also helpful. The consultation is your opportunity to understand the procedure, risks, recovery and alternatives before you make a decision.
Call the Gwinnett OB/GYN main office number, which connects to an on-call provider after hours. Do not wait until your next scheduled appointment if you experience increasing pain, fever, unusual discharge, heavy bleeding or any symptom that concerns you. Go directly to Eastside Medical Center emergency services or call 911 if you believe you are experiencing a surgical emergency.
If you are scheduled to deliver in 2027, changes to CMS billing guidelines will affect how your maternity care is billed.
We are happy to answer any questions you may have. Please speak with your care team at your next visit or contact our billing office directly
